Shipping and Live Arrival Guarantee Policies
Currently, due to APHIS regulations, we are unable to ship to US territories (Eg. Puerto Rico, American Samoa etc), and Hawaii, or Alaska. Additionally, we are unable to ship outside of the United States. From March through October, we ship our orders on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. November through February, we only ship on Tuesdays. We do this to avoid the risk of a delay resulting in animals being caught in the mailing system over the weekend. All invertebrates are shipped through USPS.
If you are worried for any reason about having a package delivered to your residence, select ‘Hold for Pickup’ when you place your order. In the event of extreme temperatures from the shipping location or to the shipping destination, your package will be marked hold for pickup to ensure the animals’ safety. Marking hold for pickup ensures your package will be held at a climate-controlled facility until you are able to pick up your order. Carriers will typically hold packages for up to five days, however, we recommend picking up your package within the first 24 hours of delivery. Additionally, due to USPS policy, we cannot ship orders to PO boxes. We do offer a live arrival guarantee on all orders. In order to receive a refund, we require packages to be picked up within 24 hours of delivery to the shipping hub (if selected) and for the customer to contact us with a photo of the dead animals in the shipment within two hours of pickup.
For all shipments regardless of count, we will pack a few above the listed count number to ensure that even if there is a die-off during transport, you receive the count you paid for. We typically overpack by roughly 20%. Animals included in your shipment will be mixed sex (we do sex during packing) and will range from sub-adult to adult status. We do not include animals younger than 3 weeks or of full maturity as they do not tolerate shipping as well.
